{"id":59,"date":"2019-08-29T20:53:44","date_gmt":"2019-08-29T20:53:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/student-life\/?page_id=59"},"modified":"2020-04-01T02:04:18","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T02:04:18","slug":"substance-abuse-coalition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/student-life\/alcohol-drug-education\/substance-abuse-coalition\/","title":{"rendered":"Substance Abuse Coalition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The mission of the Furman University Substance Abuse Coalition (FUSAC) is to create a climate of support for an environmentally focused approach to alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention on campus.<\/p>\n<p>The Coalition has several responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To facilitate an assessment of the problem and a comprehensive examination of existing AOD programs and policies.<\/li>\n<li>To continually monitor campus conditions and examine the institution&#8217;s prevention efforts.<\/li>\n<li>To understand the nature and extent of the AOD problems on our campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Student Sub-Committee of FUSAC has two additional responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide the members of FUSAC with the students&#8217; perspective on Furman University&#8217;s AOD policies and programs.<\/li>\n<li>To serve as a liaison to their respective organizations by providing AOD-related information to their peers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mission of the Furman University Substance Abuse Coalition (FUSAC) is to create a climate of support for an environmentally focused approach to alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention on campus.
