To maintain the integrity of Furman University’s trademarks, names, logos and symbols that are essential to its brand and reputation. Ensuring consistency with brand standards across the university is paramount.
Purpose
To promote, enhance, protect and enforce Furman’s identity and brand through the development, review, support and interpretation of supporting guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and guidelines to promote, support and protect Furman trademarks, logos, names and symbols for internal and external use.
- Support campus partners and vendors with requests, including guidance on our brand standards* and guidelines, as well as the official licensing process.
- Collaborate with Affinity Licensing, Furman’s current licensing management partner.
- Review and approve/reject requests from organizations that desire to become a university licensee (through Affinity Gateway).
- Review and approve/reject requests from organizations of graphic concepts for specific products as it pertains to quality, artwork and usage of university name and mark (through Affinity Gateway).
- Review and approve all (on or off) campus installations of signage, environmental graphics, branded décor, and more to ensure all brand standards have been met. Examples include wall graphics, furniture with logos, lighting, athletics field installations, etc.
- Review and approve location requests for videography and photography from sources outside of the university.
