We partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County to reduce energy consumption and promote the financial stability of homeowners through weatherization, energy conservation, and education. Furman students help track program savings and volunteer on certain projects.

To ensure a positive and professional experience for our clients, the CCC hires experienced, certified home energy auditors to determine each home’s needs. Expert contractors then perform all necessary services and provide all clients with the most relevant information for their household. Some of our services include new or additional attic insulation, weather stripping, air-sealing, crawl space vapor barriers, safety checks on combustion appliances, and more. We estimate that by providing these and other home weatherization services, we can help our clients save up to 25% on their home energy bills.

Qualifications for Home Weatherization Assistance

In order to receive weatherization assistance, residents must:

Live in and own their home

Reside in Greenville County

Have homeowner’s insurance

Be a Piedmont Natural Gas customer (exceptions may apply; contact the Program Coordinator for more information)

Have family income at or below the following amounts:

Number in Household

Annual Income

1

$54,150

2

$61,900

3

$69,650

4

$77,350

5

$83,550

6

$89,750

7

$95,950

8

$102,150

Income amounts based on HUD Median Family Income for FY2025

Apply

To apply, please provide:

Completed Weatherization Application [PDF]

Proof of income

Proof of homeowner’s insurance

1 year of electric and gas bills (or a 12-month summary, obtained from your utility provider)

Please mail these items to the following address:
Community Conservation Corps
Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities
Furman University
3300 Poinsett Highway
Greenville, SC 29613

Contact Us

Have a question about the CCC? Contact us.

Program Coordinator
Joy Baker
ccc@furman.edu
864-294-3680

The Community Conservation Corps (CCC) provides free home weatherization to low-income homeowners in the greater Greenville community.
