The Center offers a variety of opportunities for students interested in community sustainability research.
Our student fellows work on community-based participatory research projects, plan and attend community-based events, work closely with the multidisciplinary faculty affiliates, and assist in developing and implementing the Center’s strategic goals. We offer paid fellowships for students during the summer and academic year.
Projects for Peace
Projects for Peace is an initiative for all Furman undergraduate students through the Davis United World College Scholars Program to design worldwide grassroots projects that promote peace and address the root causes of conflict among parties.
Students from Furman University’s Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities host the series Upstate Anecdotes. This podcast seeks to further social equity by highlighting social justice and environmental issues through storytelling.
