The program is designed to support fellows in their efforts to develop teaching expertise and lead from the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the five-year program, Knowles Teaching Fellows receive mentoring and coaching from a staff of experienced teachers and teacher educators, financial support, and membership in a nationwide community of more than 300 STEM educators.<br \/>\nTo be eligible for a Knowles Teaching Fellowship, applicants must: have the capacity and determination to commit to teaching as their primary career; have earned a degree in a major related to the mathematics or science discipline they intend to teach no later than the start of the fellowship; have earned or will earn a valid state teaching credential\/certificate\/license that enables him or her to teach mathematics or science in grades 9\u201312 in the United States;<br \/>\nand be entering his or her first or second year as a teacher of record during the beginning term of the fellowship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information<\/strong>: Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/knowlesteachers.org\/teaching-fellowship\">Knowles Teaching Fellowship<\/a> website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview: The Knowles Teacher Initiative, formerly the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, award approximately 35 Fellowships annually to early-career high school science and mathematics teachers.
