Ask South Carolina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>January 23, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edweek.org\">Education Week<\/a> discusses how Montessori-based schools found their students outperforming public school students based off of a Riley Institute study.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;South Carolina\u2019s push to bring the century-old Montessori model to public classrooms may be paying off in both student performance and creativity, according to a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"a-link\" href=\"https:\/\/riley.furman.edu\/education\/research-evaluation\/about\/montessori-education\/results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new longitudinal evaluation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Riley Institute, a public policy research group at Furman University in Greenville, found public students in Montessori-based schools on average outperformed public students in schools with other pedagogical models in English\/language arts and math, and also in a separate measure of creativity.
