In it, Gregory, director for public education projects and partnerships, and Winkler, director of marketing, communications and strategic alignment at the Furman University institute, wrote about the success of a literacy program and collaboration between the SC Governor\u2019s School for the Arts and Humanities and the South Carolina Arts Commission known as Spark! Inspiring Tomorrow\u2019s Readers Through Drama.<\/p>\n<p>The program, winner of the 2024 Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award, has witnessed remarkable gains in reading scores and increased engagement in reading and writing among Spark students compared to their non-Spark peers.
