Through student organizations, Furman undergraduates have numerous opportunities to volunteer in the community and expand their professional network. These organizations host workshops, seminars, career information sessions, and social events. If you’re interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, we encourage you to get involved.

AED- Alpha Epsilon Delta, National Pre-Health Honor Society

Furman’s chapter of AED strives to encourage an appreciation for pre-health education and to build connections between pre-health students, faculty, and active health professionals. Our local chapter sponsors monthly informational sessions and community outreach programs.

FUMMO – Furman University Medical Missions Organization

A global health awareness group, FUMMO aims to remove barriers that prevent people from receiving medical treatment. Through fundraising and coordinating awareness events, FUMMO supports medical missions in the Greenville community and abroad.

PHOKUS – Promoting Healthy Options through Knowledge, Understanding, and Service

PHOKUS promotes health and wellness in all aspects of life through campus-wide events such as the Health Fair and outdoor fitness classes. Stay healthy with PHOKUS.

Pre-Veterinary Club

Interested in a career in veterinary medicine or animal science?  The Furman Pre-Veterinary Club coordinates speakers from the veterinary field and animal-related volunteer activities in the community.

MAPS – Minority Association of Pre-Health Students

Participants strive to create awareness about healthcare disparities among minorities and work towards eliminating them.

Pre-Dental Club

FUPDC serves as a resource for students to explore a future in dentistry. Their mission is to promote and improve oral care, treatment, and education through various programs.

Pre-Physician Assistant Club

Hosts informational events, activities, and networking opportunities for students interested in the physician assistant profession.

Furman University Responders Club

Conducts workshops and holds informational events for students interested in being trained to provide pre-hospital care for medical emergencies through EMT certification.
