Randy Weisner is a St. Marys, PA native and a 1991 graduate of the United States Military Academy. Upon graduation, Randy was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the Regular Army, and has since served in mechanized and airborne infantry, special operations, and foreign Army command and advisor billets. Currently retired from military service, Randy's previous duties include troop command at every grade through Lieutenant Colonel; staff appointments at Battalion, Brigade, and Corps level; and as an Inspector General. He served operationally in Haiti and Kuwait, and served seven combat tours, with multiple deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. His military honors and awards include Presidential, Valorous, and Meritorious Unit Citations; the Legion of Merit; four Bronze Star Medals; and three Joint Service Commendations. He also earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, and the Ranger Tab. Randy joined the Furman University Military Science Department in 2017.
