Melanie Sutherland joined the Institute for the Advancement of Community Health as the Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in August 2018 and transitioned to Assistant Education Director in Fall 2020. Sutherland teaches courses in Furman’s Master of Science in Community Engaged Medicine program and in Furman’s Health Sciences department. She also works on admissions and advising students in the MS-CEM program. She received her B.S. in psychology from Furman University, her M.A. in psychology from Wake Forest University, and her Ph.D. in epidemiology from the UofSC Arnold School of Public Health.
