Originally from Madison, Wisconsin; Lisa moved to Greenville in the fall of 2021 and is happy to be exploring the natural beauty and history of South Carolina after living in Florida for more than 30 years. After performing as a violinist and teaching music for many years, Lisa is enjoying her second career at the Cothran Center; supporting programming, events, and staff at Furman. Discovering meaning, living purposefully, and cultivating habits of awareness and self-discovery are areas of deep interest for Lisa. She also enjoys the broad range of the Cothran community, comprised of students, alumni, staff, faculty, and the greater public.
Lisa enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, quilting, and playing frisbee with their Australian shepherd dog, Tula. She continues performing locally with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and teaching music during her spare time. Lisa and her husband, Hector, appreciate the wonder of the local environment and the hospitality found in the Furman and Greenville communities.
