Craig received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 from East Tennessee State University. He completed his Master degree in 2003 from the Citadel in Charleston, SC. Prior to taking over the helm as the Head Athletic Trainer for Furman University in 2009, Craig served as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine at the Citadel for 7 years. In this role, he provided coverage care for the university’s football and baseball teams, daily injury and sick call for cadets in the Citadel Infirmary, as well as serving as a clinical instructor for the College of Charleston Athletic Training Education Program. Craig has over 15 years of experience in athletic healthcare with additional training as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and certification in Graston manual therapy and dry needling techniques. His background also includes work with the professional organizations of the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Titans. Craig as the Associate Director of Sports Medicine directly oversees the healthcare delivery services for the 18 intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by Furman University. He also oversees the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. Craig is very active in the profession of Athletic Training serving as the President of the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association for 2 years, from 2014-2016.
