In her own words...

"Upon experiencing my first Furman Engaged, I am extremely excited to participate in these types of engaged learning experiences in the future. All the students who presented their material were very passionate about their work, and they all appeared to be eager to share their findings with the Furman community. I was especially impressed by the extent of knowledge each student held for their topic, and the mastery they displayed. Because I am participating in undergraduate research in the Chemistry department, I am very excited to learn about a specific area of chemistry that I would never learn within the parameters of the classroom and ascertain a degree of mastery to have the ability to educate the Furman community about my experience. The information, techniques, and principles I will learn this summer will not only help me gain a better understanding of future Chemistry material, but it will instill professional skills, such as problem-solving, that will extend far beyond my collegiate experience. Furman Engaged has truly opened my eyes to the opportunities available at this institution, and I am sufficiently motivated and energized to take part in this type of integrative work that the Furman Advantage offers."
