Sustaining the Earth system for current and future inhabitants (including all members of the biosphere) has been Dr. Bill Ranson's goal since coming to Furman in 1979. All courses he teaches in Earth systems and Earth materials have this underlying theme. In addition, Dr. Ranson has been active in moving the University along the path to sustainability thorough leadership roles on the Sustainability Planning Council and the school's master plan for sustainability.
