Philosophy

The study of music in a liberal arts university like Furman teaches critical thinking, thoughtful expression, and honest inquiry while developing an awareness of the connections between disciplines. My goal as a teacher is to stay open-minded and try to wake up the imagination of each student. I hope to motivate students to grow personally and musically in a nurturing environment, which will enable them to one day, contribute positively to a community through music or any chosen field.
