Hello, my name is Aimee Sothen, I was born in Baltimore, MD; grew up in Lakewood, CO; and graduated high school in Greenville, SC.

I went to Bob Jones University for three years before moving back to Colorado to go to Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology for a year before deciding I needed to join the United States Navy.

I was active duty Navy for five years with a Seabee Battalion in Gulfport, MS. In that time period I went on three deployments to different places around the world. I am an Equipment Operator. So if it has wheels or tracks I can operate or drive it. In other words, the Navy pays me to have fun playing in the dirt with a lot of fun construction equipment or really big trucks.

After I left active duty I became active in the Navy Reserves. I was in the reserves for three years.

When I am not working at Furman, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors: kayaking, hiking, backpacking, and camping.
