Departments and organizations are billed monthly for campus telephone use.<\/p>\n<p>If you need help with <strong>Furman telephones or voicemail<\/strong>, please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/confluence.furman.edu:8443\/pages\/viewpage.action?pageId=30081099\">IT Self Help Guide<\/a>, or contact the IT Service Center.<\/p>\n<p>If you need instructions for <strong>smartphones<\/strong>, please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/confluence.furman.edu:8443\/display\/ITselfhelp\/Mobile+Devices\">IT Self Help Guide<\/a>, or contact the IT Service Center.<\/p>\n<h2>Furman Telephone Dialing Instructions<\/h2>\n<p><strong>On-campus extensions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dial the 4-digit extension number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Local calls:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dial 9, followed by 1 and the area code and number<\/li>\n<li>Toll Free Long Distance calls (area codes 800, 888, 877, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Long Distance (Toll) calls:<\/strong><br \/>\nFurman employees who need to make long-distance calls on university business are each given an individual 6-digit long distance authorization code. If you need an <strong>authorization code<\/strong>, please contact the IT Service Center.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>US Long Distance<\/strong>: dial 8, followed by the area code and number, wait for the tone, then enter your six-digit authorization code.<\/li>\n<li><strong>International calls<\/strong>: dial 8 + 011 + country code and number, wait for the tone, then enter your authorization code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Calls<br \/>\n<\/strong>If your department permits using your University phone for personal calls, your personal calls will be charged to your\u00a0authorization code.
