If the faculty or staff member has been backing up to a &#8220;Time Machine&#8221; volume, they may\u00a0also request a\u00a0restore from the\u00a0Time Machine volume to their new Macintosh.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All software installed by ITS will be configured by default to save data into the Documents and Settings directory on a Windows computer or the Users directory on a Macintosh computer.<\/li>\n<li>Faculty and staff installing or re-installing any software on their Furman-owned computer are responsible for directing the default save locations of that software to their My Documents folder on a Windows computer, or the Home folder on a Macintosh computer.<\/li>\n<li>When systems are replaced, only faculty or staff\u00a0data from the Documents and Settings directory on a Windows computer or the Users directory on a Macintosh computer will be transferred.
