Furman University uses DUO for multifactor authentication.\u00a0 Multifactor authentication (MFA) is a security technology that requires multiple methods of\u00a0authentication. Multifactor authentication combines two or more independent credentials such as a password and a text message, phone call, or mobile application. The goal of MFA is to create a layered defense that makes it more difficult for an unauthorized person to access an account.<\/p>\n

Modern Authentication<\/em> – DUO and Microsoft have begun to require applications that use modern authentication.\u00a0 If your current application does not use modern authentication, you will need to upgrade the software.<\/p>\n
