As a reminder, now that our BCBS medical plan is fully-insured, eligibility is based on guidelines below.<\/p>\n<p>For those not covered on Furman\u2019s BCBS plan, please check with your insurance provider before screening for plan eligibility and coverage for a 3D screening mammogram.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility guidelines for screening mammography: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>40+ years old (recommended by College of Radiology)<\/li>\n<li>Not breastfeeding (at least 6 months post-breastfeeding).<\/li>\n<li>Have not had a mammogram this calendar year.<\/li>\n<li>No breast problems such as distinct lumps, nipple discharge, redness or enlarged breasts.<\/li>\n<li>Can use the clinic stairs and stand for 10\u201315 minutes without help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Other Important Details<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will visit the Mobile Mammography unit on Furman\u2019s campus during your appointment time.<\/li>\n<li>Each mammogram typically takes about 15-30 minutes.
