News of the nomination was announced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/06\/06\/president-biden-announces-five-new-nominees-to-serve-as-u-s-attorneys-two-to-serve-as-u-s-marshals\/\">The White House<\/a>. The announcement also appeared in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestate.com\/news\/politics-government\/article257655963.html\">The State<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/politics\/biden-taps-adair-boroughs-as-next-us-attorney-for-south-carolina\/article_d0e657f8-73c3-11ec-9d9a-27201c23895f.html\">The Post and Courier<\/a>, on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.live5news.com\/2022\/06\/06\/biden-names-nominee-serve-us-attorney-south-carolina\/\">Live 5 WCSC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theusexpressnews.com\/biden-nominates-adair-ford-boroughs-to-be-scs-next-us-attorney\/\">US Express News<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wltx.com\/article\/news\/local\/president-biden-us-marshal-us-attorney-nominees-south-carolina\/101-2a8768c2-d4b6-48ce-8c0f-b462e3084061\">News 19 WLTX<\/a>. Her nomination will go before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday, July 14, according to a report in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestate.com\/news\/politics-government\/article263294403.html\">The State.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A mathematics major who received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2007, Boroughs is a founding partner of Boroughs Bryant, LLC where she has practiced since 2021. From 2017 to 2019, she was the executive director of Charleston Legal Access. She served as a law clerk for Judge Richard M. Gergel on the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina from 2013 to 2017.
