Cuttino, a 1988 Furman University political science and history alumna. Cuttino, a longtime climate and clean energy advocate, took the reins June 1 following the retirement of Ken Berlin who served as CEO since 2014. As reported in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/science\/environment\/al-gores-climate-project-names-new-ceo-rcna30010\">NBC News<\/a>, Cuttino said,\u00a0&#8220;I look forward to engaging with the broader climate and environmental justice movement to catalyze a global response to the climate crisis and promote a just, equitable and clean future for all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Climate Reality Project was launched in 2005 by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. &#8220;We are thrilled to welcome Phyllis Cuttino, a proven leader on climate and clean energy advocacy to The Climate Reality Project,\u201d said Gore who serves as chairman. \u201cPhyllis has a strong track record of bringing together diverse voices across the climate movement to drive change and deliver important progress to move us away from fossil fuels and toward a cleaner and more equitable future.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A unanimous vote by The Climate Reality Project&#8217;s board of directors has ushered in a new CEO, Phyllis A.
