Civic leader and philanthropist Minor Mickel Shaw is this year\u2019s recipient of the Council of Independent Colleges’ Charles W. L. Foreman Award in recognition of her stalwart support of South Carolina\u2019s private colleges and universities. Chair of the Duke Endowment board, Shaw was nominated for the Foreman honor by the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities Inc.<\/p>\n
The Foreman award is the CIC\u2019s highest honor given annually for distinguished service to independent higher education. Shaw received the Riley Institute’s Excellence in Civic Leadership in 2010.
