Sports Illustrated named her one of the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/more-sports\/2013\/03\/06\/50-most-powerful-people-sports#gid=ci0255c79080092781&amp;pid=cindy-davis\">50 Most Powerful People in Sports\u201d in 2013<\/a>. She serves as a board member and adviser for a number of companies in the footwear, apparel, restaurant, manufacturing, and health and wellness industries.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_55134\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55134\" class=\"wp-image-55134 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/news.furman.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/CindyDavis3.jpg\" alt=\"Cindy Davis '84 during her collegiate golfing career\" width=\"200\" height=\"258\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 200px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 200\/258;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-55134\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cindy Davis &#8217;84 during her collegiate golfing career<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A current member of the university\u2019s Board of Trustees, Davis was an economics major and standout collegiate golfer at Furman, where she was three-time All-American and runner-up at the 1983 NCAA Championships. <a href=\"https:\/\/furmanpaladins.com\/news\/2022\/2\/10\/womens-golf-furman-dedicates-davis-and-faxon-training-facility-at-rek.aspx\">The Davis and Faxon Training Facility<\/a>, dedicated earlier this year at Furman\u2019s REK Center for Intercollegiate Golf, is named in honor of her and fellow Paladin golfer Brad Faxon \u201983.<\/p>\n<p>The Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2022 is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. after the traditional procession of regalia-clad students down Furman Mall to Paladin Stadium. Davis\u2019s address will follow performances from the Furman Singers and the Furman Symphonic Band, an invocation by University Chaplain Vaughn CroweTipton, and a welcome from Furman President Elizabeth Davis, the presentation of awards.<\/p>\n<p>After Cindy Davis delivers her address, President Davis will confer the undergraduate and graduate degrees.
