{"id":9851,"date":"2022-04-13T22:44:09","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T22:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2022\/04\/22\/student-leaders-make-furman-proud\/"},"modified":"2022-09-07T15:47:21","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T19:47:21","slug":"student-leaders-make-furman-proud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/student-leaders-make-furman-proud\/","title":{"rendered":"Student leaders \u2018make Furman proud\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cIt has been an absolute joy to watch these amazing young Furman student leaders flourish during their time at Furman,\u201d said Kim Keefer, director of the Shucker Center for Leadership Development.<\/p>\n<p>Forty of those students, along with one student organization, one faculty advisor and one program, were presented with Student Leadership Awards on March 20 in Younts Conference Center.<\/p>\n<p>A panel comprised of students, faculty and staff representing a variety of functional areas on campus selected the winners in 19 categories for the university-wide recognition event. The recipients\u2019 names will also appear on continuing award plaques displayed on the leadership wall in the Trone Student Center.<\/p>\n<p>The annual event is coordinated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/student-life\/\">Division of Student Life<\/a> and is hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/shucker-leadership-development\/\">Shucker Center for Leadership Development<\/a>.
