One of the perks of calling Furman University home is its proximity to abundant state parks such as Paris Mountain, Jones Gap, Table Rock and Caesars Head – all only minutes away. Caesars Head boasts 60 miles of hiking trails, 420-foot Raven Cliff Falls, backcountry campsites, Devils Kitchen, and an annual migration of thousands of hawks each fall.<\/p>\n
Now, thanks to a partnership among the South Carolina chapter of the Audubon Society, South Carolina\u2019s Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism and Duke Energy, the Audubon Society is better equipped to study the migratory patterns of birds with a Motus Wildlife Tracking System. And there’s more good news – Audubon and Furman are collaborating to establish research partnerships with professors and to create conservation internships for students.
