The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at Paladin Stadium after a procession beginning at 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_50262\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-50262\" class=\"size-full wp-image-50262 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/news.furman.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/deb-e1619788973155.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"255\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 200px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 200\/255;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-50262\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Deb Richardson-Moore.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The alumni will hear from Deb Richardson-Moore, the author of four fiction titles and a memoir, \u201cThe Weight of Mercy,\u201d about her early years as a pastor at the Triune Mercy Center in Greenville, South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>In her 15 years at the helm of the Triune Mercy Center, more than 1,600 individuals experiencing homelessness or suffering from substance use disorders were given a second chance through rehab services. She is a popular speaker at book clubs, universities and churches who has won numerous awards for community involvement, including the 2020 Humanitarian Award by Upstate Housing Connections and the 2017 Leadership Greenville Distinguished Alumni Award.<\/p>\n<p>Social distancing and safety guidelines will remain in force for the ceremony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ceremony will be livestreamed here on May 15.
