A total of 24 freshmen joined the Furman University student body this fall as Townes and Hollingsworth scholars. Both of the scholarships are among the most prestigious at the university.<\/p>\n
Sixteen students received the John D. Hollingsworth Scholarship, while eight students were awarded the Charles H. Townes Scholarship.
