The novel, which follows his 2016 debut &#8220;Only Love Can Break Your Heart&#8221; (Algonquin), receives praise in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/things-to-do\/book-review-fortunate-ones-peeks-behind-the-veil-of-southern-gentry\/HHF2DWH6WRC7FGRKCBKU6FASSM\/\">The Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/a><\/strong>. Carrying themes of money, politics, privilege and identity, Tarkington&#8217;s tome &#8220;reminds the reader that the South is never perfect and privilege will always have a price,&#8221; writes Amy Bonesteel for the AJC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-d40-m20\">Tarkington holds advanced degrees from the University of Virginia and Florida State and teaches English at the Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee &#8211; a private school that provided ample fodder for his newest work.
