{"id":8913,"date":"2020-08-18T17:51:04","date_gmt":"2020-08-18T17:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2020\/08\/25\/furman-listed-in-2021-princeton-reviews-best-colleges-guide\/"},"modified":"2022-09-07T15:34:26","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T19:34:26","slug":"furman-listed-in-2021-princeton-reviews-best-colleges-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/furman-listed-in-2021-princeton-reviews-best-colleges-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"FURMAN LISTED IN 2021 PRINCETON REVIEW\u2019S \u2018BEST COLLEGES\u2019 GUIDE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Furman University has moved up in rank in several categories listed by The Princeton Review, such as the accessibility of professors and the classroom experience, according to the 2021 edition of the company\u2019s guide, \u201cThe Best 386 Colleges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furman rose from No. 4 last year to No. 2 for \u201cMost Politically Active Students\u201d and from No. 17 \u00a0to No. 12 for \u201cMost Accessible Professors.\u201d The university also improved from No. 17 to No. 16 in the category of \u201cMost Active Student Government.\u201d This year Furman ranked No. 10 for \u201cBest Classroom Experience\u201d and No. 12 for \u201cBest College Theater.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furman is among about 14% of America\u2019s 2,800 four-year colleges to be profiled in the book. Institutions are chosen based on data the company annually collects from administrators at hundreds of colleges about their institutions\u2019 academic offerings. The Princeton Review also considers data it gathers from its surveys of college students who rate and report on various aspects of their campus and community experiences.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We salute Furman for its outstanding academics, and we are truly pleased to recommend it to prospective applicants searching for their personal \u2018best-fit\u2019 college,\u201d said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review&#8217;s editor-in-chief and lead author of &#8220;The Best 386 Colleges.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Princeton Review does not rank the colleges in the book from 1 to 386. Instead, it reports 62 ranking lists of top 20 schools in the book in various categories important to prospective applicants and their parents.
