In the magazine&#8217;s &#8220;Value of Water&#8221; issue, Adams, a fourth generation farmer, describes how Furman&#8217;s quarter-acre farm maximizes rainfall without the use of an irrigation system. Quinn and his colleagues have worked with Upstate Forever <a href=\"https:\/\/news.furman.edu\/2017\/08\/10\/new-map-shows-upstate-land-in-critical-need-of-protection\/\">to map and identify the most critical lands for water quality protection<\/a>. He and other researchers have also &#8220;captured multiple values of nature &#8211; both relative value and a simple dollar value,&#8221; Quinn wrote.
