The Furman Office for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will host its first annual Paladin Pitch Competition set for Saturday, Feb. 22, 9-11 a.m., in McAlister Auditorium on campus.<\/p>\n
Six student teams, armed with their venture pitches, will square off for first prize: up to $10,000 in grant funding to start or grow a venture. The public is invited to attend the competition, which kicks off with a complimentary breakfast and networking with key community partners, including VentureSouth<\/a> and NEXT<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThis competition represents the perfect opportunity for Furman to participate in, contribute to and engage with the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem,\u201d said Anthony Herrera, executive director of the Furman Office for Innovation and Entrepreneurship<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s also an impactful way to build an atmosphere and culture for the Furman family and the greater Upstate community to share ideas and learn from one another.\u201d<\/p>\n The winning pitch will be selected by a panel of expert judges, including community entrepreneurs, Furman alumni and business leaders and Furman\u2019s innovation faculty advisor.<\/p>\n Seats are limited for the inaugural Paladin Pitch Competition.
