Riley announced the launch of the Riley Institute at Furman University. The Institute’s goal was to “bring the world to Furman” for the benefit of Furman students and the community. Its aim was to attract political figures and prominent journalists, to support students’ work in Washington, D.C. and overseas, and to bring scholars in residence to Furman.

Now, in its 20th year, the Riley Institute has seen these goals become realities and has matured into a thriving enterprise that benefits Furman, its students and community members across the state.

View a scrollable timeline of Riley Institute milestones or share a story about how Secretary Riley or the Riley Institute has impacted you personally.

The Riley Institute at Furman University will celebrate its 20th anniversary Thursday, Oct. 3, with two events on campus.
