{"id":8330,"date":"2019-08-06T17:34:54","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T21:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2020\/08\/18\/furman-listed-in-2020-princeton-reviews-best-colleges-guide\/"},"modified":"2022-11-06T19:37:05","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T00:37:05","slug":"furman-listed-in-2020-princeton-reviews-best-colleges-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/furman-listed-in-2020-princeton-reviews-best-colleges-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"Furman listed in 2020 Princeton Review&#8217;s &#8216;Best Colleges&#8217; guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Furman University has once again been selected for inclusion in the newest edition of The Princeton Review\u2019s college guide, \u201cThe Best 385 Colleges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the featured lists the publication cited as being especially important to prospective students and their parents, Furman ranked No. 3 for \u201cMost Politically Active Students\u201d and No. 12 in the category of \u201cMost Accessible Professors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe chose the 385 colleges for this edition as our \u2018best\u2019 overall, academically, based on data we gathered in 2018-19 from more than a thousand school administrators about their schools\u2019 academic programs and offerings,\u201d said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review\u2019s editor-in-chief and lead author of the book.<\/p>\n<p>The book\u2019s 62 ranking lists are based on its surveys of 140,000 students attending the 385 colleges in 2018-19 and\/or the previous two academic years. The company does not rank the 385 schools in numerical order. Only about 13 percent of America\u2019s 3,000 four-year colleges made the list.<\/p>\n<p>Furman is also regularly included in other Princeton Review lists each year, including \u201cBest Value Colleges,\u201d \u201cTop Green Colleges\u201d and \u201cBest Schools for Making an Impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The guide is available <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.princetonreview.com\/college-rankings\/best-colleges\">online<\/a><\/strong>.
