Pendley, who completed a master&#8217;s in teaching through the\u00a0University of Chicago\u2019s Urban Teacher Education Program, has served in Atlanta Public Schools since 2012 as a fourth-grade teacher at Burgess Peterson Academy. Before that, she taught in the Chicago Public Schools.
