{"id":7873,"date":"2018-11-29T21:13:46","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T02:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2018\/11\/29\/donors-surpass-giving-tuesday-goal\/"},"modified":"2022-11-06T20:02:56","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T01:02:56","slug":"donors-surpass-giving-tuesday-goal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/donors-surpass-giving-tuesday-goal\/","title":{"rendered":"Donors Surpass Giving Tuesday Goal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Furman University\u2019s sixth annual Giving Tuesday brought in 744 gifts\u2014119 more than this year\u2019s goal\u2014totaling $216,134.<\/p>\n<p>Contributions made during the 24-hour online giving event on Nov. 27 enhance the student experience by supporting scholarships, research, study away, athletics and various other programs at the university.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe generosity of the Furman community demonstrates the powerful impact we can make when we come together in support of our students,\u201d said Director of Annual Giving Rebecca Bilott. \u201cIn just one day, we saw gifts of all sizes add up to make a significant difference for the university.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fifteen giving challenges motivated donors throughout the event, providing them the opportunity to win Paladin hammocks, license plates, blankets, mugs, ornaments and other Furman apparel.
