The long-running tradition, which is expected to host around 2,000 guests, is loaded with events ranging from performances and sports to sessions about academic success and study away.<\/p>\n<p>The events that are open to the public are offered below. See individual listings for costs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, Sept. 28<br \/>\n<\/strong>8 a.m.-6 p.m. Barnes &amp; Noble at Furman<br \/>\nPick up your Starbucks favorite and play board games in the Caf\u00e9! Outfit the entire family in Furman gear. From hoodies to socks, B&amp;N has you covered!<\/p>\n<p>9 a.m.-5 p.m. Special Collections and Archives exhibition<br \/>\n\u201cFurman\u2019s Legacy of Slavery: An Exhibition Based on the Work of the Slavery and Justice Task Force,\u201d Second floor gallery, James B. Duke Library.<\/p>\n<p>3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Timmons Planetarium<br \/>\nCome view the heavens from the comfort of the indoors. The Timmons Planetarium is located in Rinker Hall 253 in the Townes Science Center. Special Collections and Archives, second floor, James B. Duke Library.<\/p>\n<p>6-7:30 p.m. Artist\u2019s reception with Matthew Wilt, \u201cSimple Machines.\u201d Roe Art Building.<\/p>\n<p>6 p.m. Volleyball \u2013 Furman vs. Mercer<br \/>\nAlley Gym. Tickets available at the game, $5.<\/p>\n<p>7 p.m. Women\u2019s Soccer vs. Samford<br \/>\nEugene E. Stone III Stadium. Tickets available at the game, $5.<\/p>\n<p>8 p.m. Band Extravaganza<br \/>\nUnder the direction of Furman\u2019s Jay Bocook, the Paladin Regiment will perform the set list from the band\u2019s 2018 Exhibition Show \u201cBritish Invasion.\u201d Tickets are $5, available at the door. McAlister Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>8:30-11 p.m. Family Outdoor Movie<br \/>\n\u201cThe Goonies\u201d is the featured film for family movie night. Free to all. Concessions available. Lakeside Amphitheater.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, Sept. 29<br \/>\n<\/strong>8 a.m. 5K Fun Run\/Walk<br \/>\nSponsored by the Young Alumni Council, the run\/walk follows a scenic course around Furman\u2019s campus beginning at the Lay Physical Activities Center. Participants will receive a Fun Run gift. Prizes will be awarded. Registration fee is $25.<\/p>\n<p>9-9:45 a.m. A Prospective Student\u2019s Guide to Furman<br \/>\nThis seminar is designed to guide students in grades 10-12 who are interested in attending Furman. An admission counselor will lead this presentation in the Presentation Room of the Hartness Welcome Center. Program will begin promptly at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>9 a.m.-5 p.m. Special Collections and Archives Open House and Exhibition<br \/>\nStop by Special Collections and Archives to see historic Furman documents, rare books and more. Show your Paladin Pride and pick up your Furman gear.<\/p>\n<p>10 a.m.-1 p.m. Trolley Tours<br \/>\nHop aboard the trolley at Daniel Chapel to experience a riding tour of Furman\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<p>1 p.m. Football Pre-Game Show<br \/>\nJoin Dan Scott, The Voice of the Paladins, with special guests, Sir Paladin, and the Furman Cheerleaders adjacent to the Paladin Club Tailgate Zone.<\/p>\n<p>1 p.m. Champions Walk from Pearce Horton Football Complex to Paladin Stadium<br \/>\nLine up and cheer as the Paladins exit the Pearce Horton Football Complex and head to Paladin Stadium for the pre-game warm-up ahead of their meeting with Western Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>2 p.m. Football Game vs. Western Carolina.
