Furman University Theatre Arts has announced its season for the 2018-19 academic year. Season tickets are now available. Individual tickets will be sold two weeks prior to show date.<\/p>\n
The lineup includes a student-led production and four other plays. All shows take place in The Playhouse on the Furman campus.<\/p>\n
The Season Pass for 2018-19 is $61 for adults; $49 for seniors; and $29 for students.<\/p>\n
The productions include:<\/p>\n
\u201cDaddy Long Legs\u201d This student-produced play is directed by Furman\u2019s Maegan Azar and features Furman seniors Patrick Fretwell and Anne Morgan. Based on the novel by Jean Webster, the play is described as \u201ca charming, moving tribute to the indomitable spirit of a remarkable young lady.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cLobby Hero\u201d Directed by Furman\u2019s Jay Oney, \u201cLobby Hero\u201d was Tony-nominated for Best Revival of a Play 2018. Time Out calls it \u201cA masterpiece. The best drama, the best comedy, and the best romance of the year, all rolled into one.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe Servant of Two Masters\u201d Guest artist Doug Berky directs this comedy driven by two strong, eternal forces\u2014food and love! Christopher Bayes of Yale School of Drama says, \u201cThe audience can expect to have a really great and squirrely time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe Diviners\u201d Furman\u2019s Rhett Bryson directs this folkloric fable set in 1930s America. “The playwright’s warmth, humor and love for humanity permeate the drama, and make it both touching and entertaining.” –Variety<\/p>\n \u201cJohn Proctor is the Villain\u201d Furman\u2019s Maegan Azar directs new work that stems from a partnership with New York\u2019s The Farm Theater. American Theatre magazine says, \u201cIn a mutually beneficial relationship, playwrights develop new work and students get involved in the process of making a new play.\u201d<\/p>\n
