The Center for Corporate and Professional Development at Furman University recently recognized two executives as Corporate Sustainability Fellows (CSF).<\/p>\n

The 2018 Corporate Sustainability Fellows are:<\/p>\n

Said Sam Tisdale, director of Furman\u2019s Center for Corporate and Professional Development, \u201cCorporate sustainability is being embraced across the country, not only because it\u2019s the right thing to do, but because it makes good business sense. It lowers business costs, improves productivity and enhances reputation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur postgraduate diploma in corporate sustainability provides the tools, techniques and strategic thinking business leaders need in order to build a coherent sustainability strategy. Our 2018 CSFs are recognized leaders in the field who are making a difference in their organizations and have contributed significantly to the success of our postgraduate diploma by sharing their knowledge and best practices,\u201d added Tisdale.<\/p>\n

CSFs serve as guest speakers in Furman\u2019s Postgraduate Diploma Program in Corporate Sustainability, and in the traditional undergraduate day and Undergraduate Evening Studies programs, the David E. Shi Center for Sustainability, and Earth and Environmental Sciences.<\/p>\n

CSFs also support and develop student internships and research opportunities around corporate sustainability. CSFs are nominated by faculty of Furman\u2019s Center for Corporate and Professional Development, and are selected by Brad Bechtold, Furman\u2019s executive director of Continuing Education.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur 2018 CSFs are leading edge thought leaders who are in charge of defining and implementing sustainability initiatives for their organizations,\u201d Bechtold said. \u201cThere are many sustainability-type educational programs across the country, but none are as comprehensive and business focused as Furman\u2019s program, which will be offered again in the spring of 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
