And while the weather forecast for Thursday didn&#8217;t look promising, the players had no trouble at all getting in their 18 holes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_36278\" style=\"width: 491px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36278\" class=\"wp-image-36278 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/08\/crowd-shot-800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"481\" height=\"359\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 481px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 481\/359;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-36278\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>For the second year in a row, lots of Green Bay Packers fans came to Furman to follow their favorite NFL quarterback.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>The four-day Web.com tournament takes place May 17-20 at three courses in the area. The other venues are Thornblade Club in Greenville and Cliffs Valley in Travelers Rest.<\/p>\n<p>All the pros, amateurs and celebrities in the field play one round at the Furman Golf Club Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the 10 lowest scoring pro-amateur teams and six lowest scoring pro-celebrity teams will advance to play in the final round at Thornblade Club.<\/p>\n<p>Other notable celebrities in this year\u2019s field include Don Cheadle (actor,\u00a0\u201cHotel Rwanda,\u201d \u201cHouse of Lies\u201d), Jose Alvarez (former Major League Baseball player), Ron Perlman (actor,\u00a0\u201cHellboy,\u201d \u201cSons of Anarchy\u201d), Jay Demarcus (musician, Rascal Flatts), Brian Baumgartner (actor,\u00a0\u201cThe Office\u201d), and Sterling Sharpe (former National Football League player).<\/p>\n<p>Here is the complete list of celebrities who are scheduled to play at Furman Friday and Saturday:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 18\u2014<\/strong>Jose Alvarez (former Major League Baseball player), Josh Beckett (former Major League Baseball player), Matt Hamilton (Olympic curler), C. Celebrity co-captains Larry the Cable Guy and John O\u2019Hurley will take on fellow co-captains Alfonso Riberio and Rob Riggle, and their respective teams of athletes, actors and entertainers. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/GreenvilleDrive.com\">GreenvilleDrive.com<\/a>, and each ticket will grant access to both the Greenville Drive game and the Celebrity Softball game.<\/p>\n<p>The following evening (Friday, May 18) from 7 to 10 p.m., Phil Vassar, who landed 10 No. 1 songs on Billboard\u2019s Hot Country chart as an artist and songwriter, will perform on the TD Stage at the Peace Center Amphitheater. Best known for performing hits like \u201cJust Another Day in Paradise\u201d and \u201cCarlene,\u201d Vassar also achieved success penning songs for other artists, including co-writing Tim McGraw\u2019s \u201cMy Next Thirty Years,\u201d Jodee Messina\u2019s \u201cBye Bye\u201d and Alan Jackson\u2019s \u201cRight on the Money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vassar\u2019s performance is part of an evening featuring beverages and food by Larkin\u2019s on the River.
