Lewis, a 2017 Furman Business and Accounting graduate, is one of many examples of why internships are a vital part of a college education. Lewis, who is working on his master&#8217;s in accountancy at Wake Forest, has a job lined up with one of the organizations for whom he interned while at Furman, Ernst &amp; Young. Lewis also gained confirmation about his vocation through an internship he held at Furman&#8217;s business office under the leadership of Mary Lou Merkt, vice president for finance and administration.<\/p>\n<p>He talks about his experiences in a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessofficermagazine.org\/departments\/three-times-an-intern\/\">Business Officer<\/a> <\/strong>magazine Q&amp;A with writer Margo Vanover Porter who gets Lewis&#8217; take on university policy and decision-making.
