{"id":72,"date":"2016-03-14T14:27:42","date_gmt":"2016-03-14T18:27:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2016\/03\/14\/put-on-your-best-face\/"},"modified":"2022-11-07T13:46:03","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T18:46:03","slug":"put-on-your-best-face","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/put-on-your-best-face\/","title":{"rendered":"Put on your best face!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OCTOBER 7, 2011<br \/>\nby John Roberts, Newspage Editor<\/p>\n<p>A record 235 prospective students and their families will be on campus this weekend for Fall for Furman.<\/p>\n<p>The event, a chance for the Admission staff and university faculty to showcase the campus, includes a campus tour, an address by President Smolla, and academic and activities fairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, we had 170 students, so it is way up,\u201d says Shannon Knutti, who is coordinating Fall for Furman. \u201cWe have two new admission counselors. And we are visiting more schools.\u00a0 I think that has something to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though most of the students attending Fall for Furman are from the Carolinas, families from as far away as Utah, Washington and Maine will be here.
