They also excelled in the competition for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/goldwater.scholarsapply.org\/mark-chris-and-michael-turlington\/\">Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship<\/a><\/strong>, which is the nation\u2019s most prestigious undergraduate award for math and science. Mark and Chris were Goldwater Scholars in 2004 and 2009, respectively, while Michael was a Goldwater Honorable Mention selection in 2015. For good measure, the brothers were also awarded two National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships.
