Tickets for the Sound Quality Concert Series event are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students\/youth.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_31439\" style=\"width: 363px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31439\" class=\"wp-image-31439 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/08\/thomas-joiner-portrait-sized-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"353\" height=\"500\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 353px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 353\/500;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-31439\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Thomas Joiner conducts &#8220;Messiah&#8221; featuring 140 student musicians.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Conducted by Furman music professor Thomas Joiner, Handel\u2019s <em>Messiah<\/em> holds a unique position as a monument of Western civilization. 1742 marked the debut of <em>Messiah<\/em> in Dublin, Ireland. The oratorio later gained in popularity particularly in England and America, eventually becoming one of the best known and most frequently performed choral works in Western music.<\/p>\n<p>A biennial tradition on the campus of Furman University, the performance of <em>Messiah<\/em> features 140 student vocalists and musicians. The masterwork showcases outstanding student soloists selected through competitive audition. The FSO and Oratorio Chorus will present Parts I and II of <em>Messiah<\/em> in their entirety, culminating in the mighty \u201cHallelujah\u201d chorus.<\/p>\n<p>Soloists for the performance are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leyly N.
