Furman University will present a program about the global refugee crisis Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Burgiss Theater in the Trone Student Center on campus.<\/p>\n
The Cultural Life Program event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Refugee Task Force, the Shucker Leadership Institute, and Furman Departments of Religion and English.<\/p>\n
The program, \u201cRefugees Past & Present,\u201d features a historical reflection on the global refugee crisis by Furman English professor Melinda Menzer; a refugee resettlement \u201ccrash course\u201d conducted by Furman senior Caroline Reed who interned at World Relief Atlanta last summer in refugee resettlement; and a five-member panel discussion led by student interns involved in refugee relief worldwide.<\/p>\n
