My goal is for all students to realize their full potential in the areas of academic achievement, character, and work ethic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pennington has served as assistant principal at Hunt Meadows for the past seven years. Prior to becoming an administrator, she taught fourth grade at Wren Elementary School. She earned her B.A. degree in Elementary Education from Anderson University and her M.A. degree in Education from Furman University.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33600 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/08\/lathanpooser.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 250px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 250\/166;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lathan Pooser<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lathan Pooser \u201905 (M.A. \u201917) has been chosen to serve as the Director of the Greater Atlanta Christian School of Music and GROW Summer Camp.<\/p>\n<p>Pooser previously worked as Related Arts Department Chair and Program Coordinator for M.A.L.E Mentoring Program at Longleaf Middle School in Columbia.\u00a0 He was a music educator at Powdersville Middle School in Anderson School District 1 and at Gray Court-Owings\/Hickory Tavern Middle Schools in Laurens School District 55.<\/p>\n<p>Pooser earned his B.M. degree in Music Education and his M.A. degree in Education with a concentration in School Leadership from Furman University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two Furman alumni have been promoted to new administrative positions, their schools recently announced.
