The award was reported in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenvilleonline.com\/story\/news\/2017\/08\/16\/greenville-school-district-names-teacher-year\/573880001\/\"><em><strong>The Greenville News<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. \u00a0According to a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenville.k12.sc.us\/News\/main.asp?titleid=1708toy\">Greenville County Schools news release<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>Billings&#8217; teaching practices are rooted in creating a positive, inclusive classroom community. \u201cI ensure each student views him or herself as a speaker, listener, teacher, and supporter,&#8221; said the 19-year educator.\u00a0\u201cMy reward in teaching is observing students who imagine, create, and inspire for themselves, not just for a teacher or parent,&#8221; she added.
