The public is invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry is the Carey Shepard Crantford Endowed Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures at Furman, where he has taught since 1969.\u00a0 He was recently honored with the 2012 Founders Award from the Southern Conference on Language Teaching as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the South Carolina Foreign Language Teachers Association.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate of Furman, Cherry earned a master\u2019s degree at the University of South Carolina and doctorate at Northwestern University.
