{"id":6767,"date":"2017-07-19T20:40:25","date_gmt":"2017-07-20T00:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2017\/07\/21\/riley-institute-announces-afterschool-expanded-learning-policy-fellows\/"},"modified":"2022-11-06T20:08:17","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T01:08:17","slug":"riley-institute-announces-afterschool-expanded-learning-policy-fellows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/riley-institute-announces-afterschool-expanded-learning-policy-fellows\/","title":{"rendered":"Riley Institute announces afterschool &#038; expanded learning policy fellows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen leaders in the field of afterschool and expanded learning nationwide have been selected as White-Riley-Peterson (WRP) Policy Fellows as part of a partnership between the Riley Institute at Furman University and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The new class of WRP Policy Fellows brings the total number of program participants to 91 since the initiative was launched in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Through discussion of actual case studies led by policy change-makers, the Fellowship equips graduates with a real world understanding of the art and science of sound policy-making for afterschool and expanded learning. In the 10-month program, which begins in October, Fellows will study afterschool\/expanded learning policy and develop and implement state-level policy projects in partnership with their Statewide Afterschool Networks and the national Afterschool Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>The WRP Policy Fellowship is named for William S. White, Chairman and CEO of the C.S. Mott Foundation; Richard W.
