Furman biology professor and cougar expert Travis Perry says it&#8217;s possible for mountain lions to travel great distances, but it&#8217;s not very likely they&#8217;ve traveled to our state. The story cites lack of hard evidence for the existence of mountain lions in the state&#8211;no carcasses, no trail camera footage, and no actual sightings corroborated by others.
